We got out of the truck at the meeting spot. My buddy had to go back home and get a vital piece of gear he forgot. It was refreshing because I’m usually the dummy who leaves something at home, he’s usually the guy with the backup for his friends.
As soon as I turned Ava loose she sprinted and zig zagged her way to the creek bank. She froze up solid. My other buddies lab ran straight past her and a large covey of valley quail popped up and shot to the other bank. They were quickly followed by three red tails.
She’s 4 months old and I can’t wait to see how she turns out next season.
I love that photo. Sounds like a winner dog!
Thanks Mr. McMichael. She's showing promise so far.
